Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2023-2024 Season.
Midcoast Youth Hockey Association follows the age classifications as determined by USA Hockey. Age is determined by the child’s age as of December 31, 2023.

LTPH (Learn to Play Hockey) Program (Session #1): Introduction to hockey. Skaters must be 4 years old or older by December 31, 2023. (birth year: 2019 and older). One ice session per week (45-60 minutes on average). Practices will be held on weekends at Watson Arena at Bowdoin College. Session will run for 8 weeks. Full protective hockey equipment required. Sticks and pucks will be introduced towards the middle of the season. Jerseys issued to players will need to be returned to the club at the conclusion of the season.
2023/2024 LTPH Fees will be $75 per session*.
6U: Our 6U program is for players ages 5 & 6 (birth years: 2017 & 2018) who have completed at least half a season of the LTPH program. Practices consist of fun, skills-oriented drills based on USA Hockey’s American Development Model (http://www.admkids.com/) and will be held at various local rinks. 6U will play half-ice games and they will be assigned to permanent mixed ability teams for the season. Many practices will be on shared ice with another group. Jerseys issued to players will need to be returned to the club at the conclusion of the season.
2023/2024 6U Fees will be $295.00*.
8U: Our 8U program is for players ages 6, 7 and 8 (birth years: 2015, 2016 & 2017) who have completed at least a year of the LTPH or 6U program. It is recommended that if your skater was a 6U last season, they should be registered as an 8U this season. For questions, contact the Director of Developmental Programs. Practices consist of fun, skills-oriented drills based on USA Hockey’s American Development Model (http://www.admkids.com/) and will be held at various local rinks. 8Us will have a scheduled game most weeks. These will include in house games, against other Midcoast 8U teams, as well as the opportunity to compete against similar teams from nearby hockey organizations. 8U will play half-ice games and they will be assigned to permanent mixed ability teams for the season. Includes participation in one local tournament. Jerseys issued to players will need to be returned to the club at the conclusion of the season.
2023/2024 8U Fees will be $475.00*.
8U EP: Optional, but highly recommended for those born in 2015 moving up to the 10U level the following year, an opportunity for additional ice time beyond the traditional 8U program. Select 2016s may be admitted if space allows. Registration for this program will be TBD based on availability of ice time. Ice times will likely be the 30-60 minutes immediately preceding or after a regularly scheduled 8U practice and running from January to March. These 8U skaters will begin to learn the rules and positioning applicable to the full-ice hockey game and applying them in scrimmages. Contact Director of Developmental Programs if your skater is interested in this program.
2023/2024 8U EP fees will be determined at a later date pending number of skaters and availability of ice time.
10U T4: Birth years 2013 & 2014. Fees will be $790.00*.
12U T4: Birth years 2011 & 2012. Fees will be $790.00*.
14U T4: Birth years 2009 & 2010. Will not be offered for the 2023/2024 season.
